Norseman Academy

Receiving full approval from the Indiana Department of Education in April 2023, the Norseman Academy supports MSD of North Posey County's larger vision of inspiring all students to achieve their potential for learning and life in a safe and supportive environment by recognizing that students may need targeted and purposeful support programs designed to meet the students where they are socially, behaviorally, and academically.

Mission

The Norseman's Academy mission is to create, design, and implement a dynamic, comprehensive program that meets the unique and individualized needs of the students enrolled in the program.

Emphasizing rigorous educational alternatives for students in grades 7-12, the MSD of North Posey is committed to alternative education to fully serve the greater community's needs.

On-time and high-quality graduation is a top priority for every student within the MSD of North Posey County and the Norseman Academy is one program being used to help support students to this end.

Norseman Academy has embedded their program into the heart of their school community. The students feel supported by the alternative education staff, while also feeling included in the total school population. The staff have been able to maintain the integrity of the alternative education program and its goals while working with students individually so that they can continue their pathways courses.
